  1. mr. Ju thank you very much for your srx 400 blog.... I am very thankful of what you have posted. I have alot of question regarding your build because I am also restoring an srx 400 just like what you have. mine is a 1989 model. kickstart with oilcooler. any way do you have a manual or a guide for rebuilding the engine? because parts of srx 400 are very rare here in the philippines. all of my valves are crooked and messed up.my valve seals are loose and my piston head is scratched up because the 4 valves is hitting the piston head. and guess what the piston head is from a honda cb400. if you can give me some advice that would be very helpful for my build. I've seen your post that the piston head that you use is from a honda xr400.. thank you for posting it because now I will call my mechanic if he can find that pistonhead. oh I forgot to tell you my cylinder are rebore too. keep up the good work. and I hope you finish your build and ride your srx... -jpduazo@yahoo.com

  2. Dear Brax,

I am very grateful for your kind feedback and appreciation of my work! At the same time, I am sorry for a late reply. The comment section had been slipping from my attention until now.

I believe that your bike is already all up and running, while mine is still a work in progress :) I hope that Honda xr piston will prove to be success. Honestly, I entrust this task to a renowned company which suggested this solution as no OEM kit is available - it has to work, fingers crossed :)

Well, as far as I am concerned, there is no handbook for srx-4 at hand. I work entirely with a guide available for "600" model. It fits pretty much, with the same torque moments for example, but I cannot tell what the overall fine differences are.

    Thanks again,

    Jiri
